This is an exciting opportunity to actively contribute your ideas and insights as a member of Claremont and enhance our services as a charity. It’s a chance to bring the perspectives of members to the table as we work to advance Claremont’s charitable mission together. The Claremont Members’ Committee plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our community centre and ensuring that it meets the diverse needs and interests of our members, and is an opportunity to learn about developments and strategy within the charity. The Claremont Members’ Committee is:
- Open to all
All members have an equal opportunity to apply and contribute.
- Voluntary
Participation in the committee is on a voluntary basis.
- Term limited
Members are limited to serve up to 2 years, with the option to reapply once if desired.
- Representative
We aim for diverse representation within the committee including members from different backgrounds and walks of life, and a variety of interests.
- By application
We have a straightforward application process, but no special qualification or experience is necessary. To apply, please complete the Application Form and email it to amy@claremont-project.org or hand it in at the Front Desk.
Responsibilities
- Attend quarterly Claremont Members’ Committee meetings to discuss and provide input on programs and services. The Committee meets quarterly, and usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month in March, June, September, and December or as close to this date (subject to change)
- Share feedback, suggestions, and ideas to improve overall member experience.
- Represent the interests and voices of Claremont members and advocate for their needs during decision making.
- Participate in ongoing communication with Claremont staff.
Expectations
- Active member of Claremont with a genuine interest in contributing to its growth.
- Enthusiasm for community engagement and experiences of Claremont members.
- Respect for confidentiality and to handle sensitive information with discretion.
